Cloud Standup is geared towards companies and institutions who have some experience working on the cloud (2 or more years) who consider that it is possible to get more value from their investment. These organizations face common challenges such as:
- Cloud spend is going out of control. It is necessary to verify that resources are being spent only on what's necessary.
- There have been service interruptions due to infrastructure issues.
- There is uncertainty about whether recommended security practices are being followed.

The duration of a Cloud Standup methodology implementation will depend on the size and complexity of the workloads of an organization. A common duration is around 3 months. This is broken up into three phases:
- Execution of a Well-Architected Framework Review (2-3 weeks).
- Presentation of Well-Architected Framework Review and prioritization of improvement initiatives. (1 week).
- Execution of 4 biweekly Cloud Standup sessions (8 weeks).
