Given these requirements, a fault-tolerant high availability architecure must be implemented in order to ensure service continuity.

The evolution of the institution has resulted in a combination of legacy and modern data platforms coexisting. The growth of banking institutions in the country and the need for real-time decision-making has required the central bank to deliver precise information quickly.
Given the critical nature of the platform, a cloud provider was required with proven on-demand scalability, high availability and fault tolerance. It was necessary to scale the database in a simple manner according to the demands of the application and automate the majority of database routine administration tasks such as patching, backups, and storage management. Using the Amazon Aurora database service, these requirements were met and exceeded.
